High Court overturns Civil Court ruling in favour of failed Villimale' Buggy Service by Ninety Nine Holdings

The High Court has oveturned the Civil Court ruling on the Villimale' buggy service. Earlier, the Male' City Council had issued a written notice to Ninety Nine Holdings - the company assigned earlier to operate the island's buggy service. The notice was to vacate all land they occupied in Villimale' as part of the earlier agreement. The Civil Court had ruled in Ninety Nine Holdings' favour, annulling the letter of notice. However, the High Court has oveturned the lower court ruling.

On 17th December 2013, the Male' City Council had entered into an agreement with Imprint to provide an environment friendly buggy transportation service on Villimale'. on 25th August 2022, the Male' City Council had issued notice to Ninety Nine Holdings to vacate the lands designed to them as part of the agreement with Imprint, as the buggy service was not being provided in accordance with the earlier agreement.
