Malé City Council Meets with Senior Officials of the Auditor General’s Office

Malé City Council met with senior officials of the Auditor General’s Office to discuss the progress of the council’s audits and the release of audit reports.

The meeting was held today at the Auditor General’s Office.

During the meeting, Malé City Mayor Adam Azim requested that the pending audits be completed as soon as possible and that the reports be made public.

Mayor Azim noted that it has been 10 years since the Malé City Council was last audited. He highlighted that one of his first actions after taking office was to initiate the council’s audit process and that all required information and documents have been provided to the Auditor General’s Office.

The Mayor emphasized the importance of auditing in strengthening the council’s administration and increasing public confidence in the institution. He also stressed the need to complete the audit work promptly to provide clarity regarding the council’s operations.

Mayor Azim had previously visited the Auditor General’s Office on 20 November regarding the matter. However, he was unable to meet with the Auditor General on that occasion.

Several senior officials from Malé City Council also participated in today’s meeting.
