Resumption of permit issuance to hold night markets that conform to HPA guidelines

The Male' CIty Council has decided to resume the issuance of permits to hold night markets. The temporary halting of permits was prompted by HPA (in their letter no. 1/425/2022/2-23, dated 5 January 2022) recommending that large gathering be halted. However, on public demand, the Authority, in their letter no. L/425/2022/3-23 (dated 6 January 2022) has decided to allow interested parties to hold night markets with revised health and safety guidelines that mirror shops and businesses in the city.

The Council has therefore decided to commence reissuing permits to parties that agree to conform to HPA health and safety guidelines.
