MCC Announces the Winners of its 1444 Quran and Madhaha Competition

The Malé City Council has announced the winners of its 1444 Quran and Madhaha competition.

The competitions which were held last Ramadan saw its winners announced and awarded with valuable prize gifts at the special ceremony held on 20th May 2023.

At the ceremony, winners of the competition were warded with prize gifts and money along with those who won in the category of original melody and lyrics. In addition to this a special plaque was awarded to Dhivehi Channel and Sangu TV for broadcasting the competitions.

The prize awards and gifts include the Mayor Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s award cup, memorial certificate of participation and win from the council, memorial plaque, price gifts and prize money by the council along with the gifts and bicycles by the Lotus shop. In addition to this the prize gifts include TVs and soundbars provided by the Red Wave franchise.

In addition to this telecom giants Ooredoo and Dhiraagu also sponsored valuable prize gifts to the winners of the competitions. Under their sponsorship Dhiraagu awarded 3 months free 50 MB fiber connection along with 6 months free 50MB fiber connection while Ooredoo sponsored prize money for the winners of the competition.

Ooredoo sponsored a prize money of MVR 20,000.00 for the 1st place winner of Quran recitation by memory while MVR 10,000.00 was awarded to the 1st place winner of the Madhaha competition.

Malé City Council also provided prize money for the winners of the competition ranging form MVR 3000.00 to MVR 25,000.00.

The 1444 Quran and Madhaha competitions aw a total of 1060 contestants of which 756 competed in the Quran recitation competition while the remaining 304 competed in the Madhaha competition.
